Claire Valentine-Gibson — Artist, Witch & Black Cat Mum

Claire is a British artist inspired by the magic, mystery and quiet wisdom of the natural world.

Working with recycled, reclaimed and found materials wherever possible, Claire creates original paintings, sculptures and magical artworks for people who feel that nature is more than something we simply look at, it is something we can learn from, connect with and carry within us.

Her work sits at the meeting point of nature, folklore, witchcraft and inner transformation, drawing inspiration from ancient trees, British wildlife, woodland, folklore and the creatures that cross our paths.

Her latest body of work, Nature’s Messengers, began with a simple question: what might nature be trying to remind us of?

The resulting collection of 42 original wildlife paintings became the foundation for her Nature’s Messengers Oracle Deck, with each animal chosen as a messenger carrying its own wisdom, spell and invitation to take action. Across six realms, Sky, Forest, Night, Water, Earth, and Hearth & Familiar. The deck encourages us to slow down, notice what is around us and reconnect with the nature within.

This work also forms part of Claire’s evolving Nature Within Method, a practice she has developed by weaving together elements of NLP, mindfulness, CBT and witchcraft. At its heart is the belief that meaningful change can begin when we quiet the noise around us and listen to what is already within.

For Claire, creating art is therefore more than making something beautiful.

Art is a spell.

Each piece begins with intention, passes through her hands and becomes a physical reminder of something that might otherwise be forgotten, our connection to nature, our own intuition, or the possibility of seeing ourselves differently.

Her commitment to the natural world extends beyond her studio. Claire supports wildlife and habitat conservation and uses her artwork to raise funds for wildlife causes whenever she can. She is also involved in planting trees and creating spaces for biodiversity, believing that caring for nature should be something we actively do, not simply something we talk about.

Her work has been featured in Witches Magazine, and in 2025 she was recognised as Solo Female Artpreneur of the Year by Luxlife.

Based in Staffordshire, Claire continues to create art that invites people to step away from the noise of modern life and back into something older, quieter and more magical.

Back to the wild.
Back to yourself.
Back to the Nature Within.
